Company History
Dan, Michelle, and Anula met in the Summer of 2000 at the Asian Arts
Initiative in Philadelphia. We were all participants in the
"Something to Say" performance workshop, led by the legendary Gary
San Angel (Peeling the Banana).
After the workshop ended, we continued to work together and
develop new material, and in the Summer of 2001, Asians Misbehavin'
premiered at the New York International Fringe Festival.
In 2002, we performed at the PSNBC industry showcase, and at the
New York and Philadelphia Fringe Festivals. In 2003, we were
Artists in Residence at the Community Education Center
(Philadelphia), and performed at the Vancouver Asian Canadian
Theater and at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. In 2004, we
continued to perform at colleges and universities
In 2005, we
received a grant from WYBE-TV (Philadelphia) to put together a
30-minute video of some of our best stuff. The video aired in
2006.
