DANIEL KIM
received his B.S.in Creative
Writing from MIT.
He is
an actor, singer, and standup comedian, who has performed across the
country. He appeared at the Philadelphia Theatre Company, playing
the title role in Daddy's Wish as part of the Philadelphia
Young Playwrights program. He has appeared at the Wheelock Family
Theater (Boston), Little Flags Theater (Boston), and the Light Opera
of Manhattan (NYC). In Los Angeles, Dan played the villainous Judge
Turpin in the award-winning production of Sweeney Todd at
East West Players, and appeared on the ABC sitcom All American
Girl. In addition, Dan was one of a select group of writers
invited to participate in the Warner Bros. Comedy Writing
Workshop. As a standup comedian, Dan has performed at the Improv,
Gotham Comedy Club, Standup NY, and other top comedy clubs in NYC.
MICHELLE MYERS
holds a Ph.D. in English from Temple University, specializing in
Asian American Literature, 19th Century American Literature, and
20th Century African-American Literature. She is a founding member
of the spoken word group Yellow Rage, which was featured on HBO’s
Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry, and which recently released
its second CD: Handle With Care, Vol. 2. Their first CD,
Black Hair, Brown Eyes, Yellow Rage, Vol. 1 was released in
2002. In addition, Michelle’s poetry has been published in a
chapbook entitled Ancestor Worship. She is currently an
Assistant Professor in the Learning Lab at Community College of
Philadelphia and Grants Coordinator at SEAMAAC (Southeast Asian
Mutual Assistance Association Coalition).
ANULA
SHETTY received her MFA in
Film & Media Arts from Temple University, and now works as an
independent media artist and educator. She is a founding member of
Asians Misbehavin and a co-director of Termite TV Collective, an
alternative television series. Her documentary and experimental
videos have been broadcast on Public Television and screened at
festivals and museums, including the Museum of Modern Art. Awards
include three Media Arts Fellowship from the PA Council on the Arts,
a Gold Apple from the National Educational Film & Video Festival,
and the Grand Prize from the U.S. Super 8 Film Festival.
F. OMAR TELAN
is an Asian American writer / poet / spoken word / performance
artist. He was born in Philadelphia in 1976 and grew up in suburban
Pennsylvania. He attended Emerson College where he earned his BFA
in Writing, Literature, and Publishing. He also received a
Certificate in Publishing from the Radcliffe Publishing Course.
Omar's work has been published in Maganda, Gangsters in Concrete,
Bamboo Girl, the webzine Our Own Voice and is scheduled to be
published in the upcoming issue of A Gathering of the Tribes. He
has performed around the country in venues ranging from Seattle's
Northwest Asian American Theatre to the Nuyorican Poets Cafe to
Suffolk University in Boston. He was the alternate of the 2001 New
York-Union Square Poetry Slam Team. Omar is a member of several
arts collectives including the FiLatino Tour, the louderARTS
Project, and the Rhinoceros group. |
